Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium From Peanut Butter Products

An Orlando car accident leaves one woman dead after she drives her car into a retention pond beside State Road 417. The incident took place at approximately 9:00 AM on Monday morning, February 15, 2010.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Sparkle Corinee Pomeroy, 26, of Orlando, became stuck in her Toyota Scion when her vehicle plunged into a retention pond. She was trapped in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes until rescue crews were able to finally free her. Pomeroy was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she died several hours later.

According to reports, Pomeroy lost control of her vehicle, crossed the median and then plunged into the pond. The cause of the accident is not known at this time.

Officials immediately checked Toyota’s recall list, however, her car was not listed as one of the vehicles that had been recalled.

The Orlando accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident has been asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at (407) 737-2213.

This is an unfortunate accident that claimed the life of this Orlando mother. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of those that have been affected by this tragedy.
